Pearson English Spring Days 2021

The first Pearson English Spring Days took place in 2020 in response to the dramatic changes in teaching and learning caused by the pandemic. We have a number of Webinars packed with hands-on support and resources for educators – and over 40,000 of you have attended.

A year later, many of you are still teaching online or in mixed or hybrid contexts. You may also have returned to school to find learning gaps and increasingly different levels among students.

Our speakers provide insights into the future of language teaching, provide useful teaching resources, and provide tips that you can implement in your classrooms. Based on the feedback from our teacher groups, three main topics will be addressed in the sessions:

  • Hybrid learning:The challenging task of teaching a class of students divided into online and face-to-face groups at the same time. How can teachers face the challenge of teaching hybrid classes effectively?
  • Lost learning: School closings around the world have created significant learning gaps and levels. What can be done to fix this?
  • Technostress: The fear of using new technology and the pressure to be constantly connected. What can teachers do to counteract this?

The opening plenary session with Professor Ken Beatty, an expert in language teaching from elementary school to university, will examine the impact of online learning over the past year, examining both the challenges and the benefits for teachers and learners.

At the round table, our last meeting of the spring days 2021, the panel will talk about their experiences and how they have fully embraced hybrid learning. We will hear from teachers about the challenges they face and answer their burning questions.

What else do we have in store for you this year? With our speakers, who cover areas from assessment to self-sufficiency, there are many interesting webinars to choose from.
