How teacher-assisted AI is pushing the boundaries of progress – in teaching, testing and beyond (chimney chat)
Pearson’s AI technologies can be used for formative or summative purposes in educational assessment. Public perception in this area has often focused on the lack of human interaction and judgment when using automated marking technologies.
This talk will show that in many ways the opposite is true. The use of artificial technologies enables the judgment of hundreds of human evaluators to be assessed collectively, increasing validity, and addressing biases and problems with low reliability. These technologies also significantly reduce the workload on teachers when it comes to grading student work, while still benefiting from diagnostic feedback from their students.

Research shows us that effective teaching and learning is results-oriented. At Pearson, the GSE framework supports the development of all new course materials and assessments, creating a robust end-to-end solution that allows learners to be placed, taught, monitored and assessed throughout their learning journey using the GSE. In this session we will look at how the GSE can be used to ensure that your learners are making progress, demonstrating both the products that together make up the end-to-end solution, as well as the free online tools and Resources that are available for teachers.
